AUSGAR is a proud sponsor of the Women In Defense (WID) Charleston South Carolina Palmetto Chapter’s Salute to the  fighting ladies.

Salute to the Fighting Ladies is the Women in Defense Palmetto Chapter’s 8th annual Military Woman of Year event honoring the brave and incredible women in the armed forces. This year WID-PC is expanding the scope of the Military Woman of the Year awards in order to recognize more women for their outstanding achievements and dedication. Military Woman of the Year will be awarded to an Active Duty and Reservist/National Guard female for each of the following categories for a total of eight awards:

  • Junior Enlisted: E-1 to E-6
  • Senior Enlisted/Warrant Officers: E-7 to E-9 and W-1 to W-3
  • Company Grade Officers: O-1 to O-3
  • Field Grade Officers: O-4 to O-5

In addition to recognizing these amazing women, this event also serves as a fundraiser for the WID-PC STEM Scholarship Program, with annual awards to female students pursuing degrees in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) discipline. One annual scholarship is reserved for a female veteran, reservist/National Guard.
